Fitness and Experience What's needed to complete an Everest Base Camp Trek

Recommended Fitness Levels

A trek to Everest Base Camp is achievable by most, providing you’re in good health, have a thirst for adventure, and aren’t a complete couch potato!

So how strenuous is it? Well, unsurprisingly, you’ll be walking almost every day, with shorter days to begin with (important to allow you to condition and acclimatise to the trek and gain in altitude). Many of our previous team members have found some sections of the trek quite challenging, however they’ve all come away with an immense sense of achievement and increased confidence in their own abilities.

As with any trip of this nature, the fitter you are, the more likely you are to enjoy it, and following your booking with Snowball, we’ll happily share our tips on how to get your fitness levels up to scratch. We can also run some guided walks in the UK prior to your trip if required – just to make sure you’ve broken in those walking boots! (contact us for further details)

If you have any questions about the physical demands of this trip – don’t hesitate to get in touch.
